The FBI Association of Intelligence Analysts is a community of intelligence professionals who began their careers in the FBI and later transitioned to the private sector, academia, and the nonprofit sector.

One of the most frequently asked questions we receive is:

🌐 We’d like to highlight an increasingly important field: Think tanks.

➡️ Think tanks are research organizations that produce analysis on national security, foreign policy, cyber threats, emerging technologies, and global trends. Former FBI IAs bring a unique perspective to these institutions—pairing real-world experience with strong writing, briefing, and analytical skills.

Organizations like the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), RAND Corporation, Atlantic Council, Eurasia Group, Center for a New American Security (CNAS), and others actively hire analysts with a background in intelligence.
